Anarkali
The word 'Anarkali'
signifies 'Pomegranate Blossom'. As per a legend, this was the name of a lovely
moving young lady. She began to look all starry eyed at the Mughal sovereign
Selim (who later turned into the Emperor Jahangir). But the ruler's dad, the
old Emperor Akbar, didn't care for the young lady. So he had the young lady
captured and rebuffed. She kicked the bucket and was covered close to a bazaar
or market. Later, when sovereign Selim became Emperor he named the bazaar after
her. Today, there is an old tomb close there. Jahangir fabricated it in 1615.
People say this is the tomb of the genuine Anarkali, yet nobody is sure.
