Tomb of Allama Iqbal
Iqbal was one of the
significant motivations behind the Pakistan Movement and is adored in Pakistan
as Muffakir-e-Pakistan (The Thinker of Pakistan) or Shair-e-Mashriq (The Poet
of the East). Iqbal kicked the bucket on 21 April 1938 in Lahore at 60 years
old. A large number of guests go to the tomb consistently to offer their
feelings of appreciation to the writer logician. It is said that Mustafa KemalAtatürk sent earth gathered from Maulana Rumi's tomb to be sprinkled on this
grave.
The rectangular tomb
has two entryways at the eastern and southern side separately, decorated with
marble, while the cenotaph itself is made of white marble. The headstone was a
blessing from the individuals of Afghanistan, and is made of lapis lazuli and
recorded with Quranic sections in calligraphy engraved in Afghanistan.
